Medical Billing Coordinator
Position Summary:
As a Billing Coordinator , you will oversee the full billing cycle and drive improvements in our billing processes. You'll be responsible for managing data entry, ensuring accuracy in claims and authorizations, and communicating directly with insurance providers and internal staff. Your work will support timely reimbursement and allow us to continue delivering exceptional care to the children and families we serve.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1+ year of experience in billing, healthcare, or administrative support (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Preferred experience in the following areas:
- Blue Cross Blue Shield billing
- CHAMPS system
- Insurance authorizations
- ABA therapy billing
- Home healthcare industry
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute timely, accurate weekly billing for all services
- Coordinate and oversee data entry into billing and EMR systems
- Serve as the primary point of contact for billing-related questions and problem resolution
- Conduct regular quality assurance checks to ensure proper documentation and billing compliance
- Re-educate staff as needed to maintain billing accuracy standards
- Communicate with insurance providers to stay updated on billing changes and ensure correct claim processing
- Assist with maintaining authorization compliance per each payer's guidelines
- Identify areas for improvement in the billing process and help implement solutions
- Support additional administrative tasks as assigned
