Position Summary
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and detail-oriented Teller to join a branch team. This role focuses on providing excellent customer service, accurately processing financial transactions, and supporting branch operations. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, enjoys working with people, and is comfortable with both activity spikes and slower periods that require initiative and focus on back-office tasks.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills with a welcoming, positive attitude
- Easygoing demeanor; able to remain composed and unflustered
- Basic computer skills; ability to learn and use internal systems (DNA platform)
- Ability to learn quickly and progress with hands-on training
- Solid math aptitude, including accurate cash handling and counting
Role Responsibilities
- Process daily teller transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and check handling
- Maintain an accurate cash drawer; balance throughout the day
- Verify and prepare cash and coin for shipment
- Provide courteous, efficient service to walk-in and drive-thru customers
- Perform data entry and proactive paperwork during downtime
- Assist with back-office, scanning, filing, and cross-departmental support
- Answer phones and support member inquiries
- Issue debit cards and process basic account requests
- Open and close branch procedures as assigned
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with all policies and regulations
- Complete required compliance and system training
- Assist with mail payments, address changes, reports, and transaction verifications
- Support onboarding and training of new tellers as needed
Branch & Customer Environment
- Mix of walk-in and drive-thru service with a scheduled rotation
- Small, collaborative branch team
- Regular members with established relationships
- Periods of lighter foot traffic balanced with proactive administrative work
- Volume may fluctuate; comfort with both busy and slower workflows is important
Schedule & Work Environment
- Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- No Saturdays currently
- Business casual dress code
- Lunch/Breaks: 1-hour lunch + one 15-minute break (team-based flexibility)
Training & Onboarding
- Orientation conducted at the assigned branch
- Initial days include paperwork, shadowing, and hands-on observation
- Training pace based on learning speed and manager assessment
- Access to an online training platform covering systems and regulatory requirements
- Very hands-on management and support
