Salary Range: $48,000 - $79,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Lansing seeking CNC Machinists who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machinery (lathes, mills, grinders) according to specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code.
• Perform in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring tools.
• Monitor machine operations, detect malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts, ensuring proper material handling.
• Change and replace worn tools, inserts, and other machine components as needed.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and G-code/M-code.
• Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Strong understanding of tooling, fixtures, and work holding devices.
• Experience with in-process quality control and identifying machining defects.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM).
• Experience with CMM operation or other advanced metrology tools.
• Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
