Purchasing/Pricing Manager

Paragon Technologies, a SunSource company, specializes in providing world-class service, repair and re-manufacturing in the areas of electronics, hydraulics, robotics, servos and mechanical components for various industries.


This position is responsible for the development and evaluation of company purchasing and pricing guidelines and strategy. Provide overall direction to associates to maintain consistency of purchasing and pricing while meeting company's goals.

Responsibilities

Purchasing

  • Direct and coordinate activities of team members in buying, selling and distributing materials, equipment and supplies.
  • Represent Paragon in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.
  • Maintain vendor scorecard.
  • Source vendors of materials, equipment or supplies and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales.
  • Create purchase orders for the acquisition of materials.
  • Follow up on vendors’ status of purchase orders and update notes in system.
  • Responds to client group email inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Carries out plant and inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Perform accurate data entry in Enterprise System.
  • Provides routine administrative support.

Pricing

  • Partner with finance to explore and find solutions for margin expansion.
  • Manage pricing execution, including data integrity and consistency.
  • Take initiative in identifying and resolving issues around pricing and margins.
  • Review and approve non-standard pricing requests
  • Take ownership of process improvements and drive to successful implementation.
  • Provide formal and informal training related to various aspects of pricing and margin to all applicable associates.
  • All other duties assigned.

General Education and Experience

  • Education – Associates Degree Required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Purchasing, Finance, or Business with strong analytical background.

  • Experience — 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

  • Knowledge Skills and Abilities – Exceptional leadership skills with an ability to teach and help other professionally. Excellent communication and analytical skills. Strong business analytic skill set. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities. Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment while setting priorities, manage diversity of job responsibilities with effective organizational skills and working with deadlines.

  • Physical Dexterity — frequently required to stand; walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, knell, crouch or crawl. Frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.

Initiative: Asserting one’s influence over events to achieve goals; self-starting rather than accepting passively; taking action to achieve goals beyond what is required; being proactive.

Planning and Organizing (Work Management): Establishing a course of action to accomplish a specific goal; planning proper assignments of personnel and appropriate allocation of resources.

Drive for Results (Work Standards): Demonstrates concern for achieving or surpassing results against an internal or external standard of excellence, shows a passion for improving the delivery of services with a commitment to continuous improvement.
