Staff Accountant
- Review and approve accounts payable invoices for all entities.
- Review and approve corporate credit card transactions, ensuring required receipts are submitted.
- Process bi-monthly and monthly contractor payments.
- Prepare and/or review 1099 forms.
- Own the full month-end close process for multiple entities, including:
- Preparing journal entries, including accruals for billings, payroll, and expenses
- Completing balance sheet account reconciliations
- Performing bank reconciliations
- Completing credit card reconciliations
- Maintaining aging tie-outs
- Performing paid-to-bill reconciliations
- Posting payroll journal entries
- Monitor cash activity for assigned entities.
- Assist in preparing accurate and timely US GAAP financial reports.
- Train and support new team members.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly specialty reports as required.
- Assist with year-end audit processes and requests.
- Update and maintain process documentation for the role.
- Identify opportunities for workflow and process improvements.
- Participate in additional projects and assignments as needed.
- Other projects and activities as assigned.
- No supervisory responsibility.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time and possesses the normal range of body motion.
- Duties are performed using a hybrid working model combining remote work with office work. The needs of the business will determine the week-by-week structure.
- Degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of work experience in a related field.
- Experience with accounting software(s)
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications.
- Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking
- Familiarity with bookkeeping & basic accounting procedures
- Competency in MS office, databases & accounting software
- Exhibits effective communication and interpersonal skills including the four
- quadrants of Emotional Intelligence: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management.
- Ability to use discernment and critical thinking to resolve discrepancies and issues; exhibiting sound and accurate judgement and includes the appropriate people in decision making.
