The General Dynamics Land Systems Summer 2026 Internship Program provides an opportunity for students looking to start or continue the transition from academia into industry. Our three-month internship assignments provide compensation based on area of study and class standing, and have the students embedded in key functional areas of our business, getting real-world experience and mentorship from experienced professionals. The summer Intern will perform activities as directed by senior program management leadership to collectively support the management of the respective stakeholders' proposal through close-out to meet cost, schedule and performance requirements as outlined in applicable contract scope of work. - 9-80 Work Schedule (This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off).

- Support the Department Manager to initiate, establish, propose, and implement new strategies and methodologies aligned with the department goals and objectives.
- Actively contribute with the team to:
- help resolve complex problems involving diverse, conflicting and/or incomplete data, requiring significant analysis, ingenuity and independent thought to mitigate risk and meet schedule
- collaborate with internal department and cross functional stakeholder routine reviews and collaboration to achieve our goals and objectives
- establish and maintain a tactical event calendar to synchronize cadence within the department
- support compliance inclusive of inter-department audits and administrative requirements
- Share recommendations of innovative thinking to support continuous process improvements
- Support and actively contribute with the implementation of Safety, WSBM, ISO, Lean Six Sigma, Metrics, Compliance and other GDLS initiatives
- Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in either Business, Leadership, or applicable Interdisciplinary Studies, from an accredited university or college.
- Must have attained at least a sophomore status based on university/college's class standing requirements at the start of the internship.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Preferred - GPA of 3.0 of higher
- Must be a U.S. Person (i.e. a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.)
- Must successfully pass standard pre-employment screens and must provide an official college or university transcript from their school before their first day of employment.
- Must be able to complete a minimum of a full time, 3-month assignment.
- Must have ability to work with diverse multicultural group, which include all levels of staff and management.
- Proficient in MS Office (i.e., Excel, Word, Power Point, Access) suite required.
- Must be customer focused and action oriented.
- Must have excellent follow-up skills with the ability to follow-through to completion.
