Full Stack Developer (React/Java) Lansing, MI
Job Description
The Full Stack Java Developer will support the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) within the Project Development and Maintenance programs. This role is responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise applications that support critical transportation initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a strong backend Java developer with exposure to front-end technologies and a collaborative mindset. This position works closely with project managers, application owners, resource managers, and UI/UX team members in an Agile development environment.
Key Responsibilities
Participate as a member of an Agile development team to plan, design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions
Collaborate with project managers, application owners, and technical leads to organize and prioritize work
Develop and maintain full-stack Java applications, supporting both new development and enhancements
Perform production support, software updates, and ongoing maintenance
Contribute to continuous improvement and modernization efforts, including rewriting legacy applications
Work closely with UI/UX team members to build intuitive, responsive user interfaces
Ensure applications meet performance, quality, and security standards
Document technical designs and participate in code reviews
Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders
$48/hr to $53/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401K retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
