This position involves working as a Mechanical Assembler on the 1st shift in the DC Department. The typical working hours are Monday through Thursday from 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and potential overtime on Fridays. The role guarantees 40 to 45 hours per week, with training required on the 1st shift.

Responsibilities

• Set up jobs for the day, preparing panel boxes, switchboards, wire, and other components for assembly.
• Assemble solar panel power boxes and switchboards in a large, clean, and quiet manufacturing facility.
• Pull and spool wire, read blueprints to determine part assembly locations, and work as part of a team on the assembly line.
• Use hand tools, air power tools, torque wrenches, and strip wires to assemble power boxes.
• Meet the production target of assembling 64 panels per day after training is completed.

Work Environment

The facility is clean and manual labor involves lifting up to 40 lbs. Teamwork is emphasized on the assembly line and during wire spooling. The environment is super casual; employees must wear shirts with sleeves, shorts or pants without holes, and steel-toe boots. Headphones with one earbud are allowed during work. Safety glasses and gloves are provided if needed. The shop is equipped with fans, is not temperature controlled, and consists of small teams of roughly 4-6 persons, with 20 people total on the 1st shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Walker, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
