Inspection Technician | Whitehall, MI

Salary Range: $47,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators.
• Document inspection results accurately in quality management systems and inspection reports.
• Identify and isolate non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate corrective actions.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and quality specifications to ensure compliance.
• Calibrate and maintain inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and implement improvements.

Recommended Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
• 1-3 years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify visual and dimensional defects
• Basic computer literacy for data entry and report generation

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with metrology software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, Minitab)
• Basic knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies
• Experience performing or assisting with equipment calibration
