Accounting Manager

Description Our trusted client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager Consultant for long-term engagement. This hybrid role is located in West Bloomfield, Michigan and will report directly to the Controller. The day-to-day responsibilities include: - Facilitate month-end close activities by preparing and reviewing expense reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with deadlines. - Conduct in-depth expense analyses to identify trends and provide actionable insights for cost optimization. - Manage the accounts payable process, ensuring timely invoice processing, payment accuracy, and vendor reconciliations. - Oversee the corporate credit card program, including policy compliance, expense report reviews, and monthly reconciliations. - Review and approve employee reimbursements and mileage submissions, ensuring adherence to company policies. - Administer fixed asset management processes, including acquisitions, depreciation, and disposals, while maintaining compliance with accounting standards. - Supervise lease accounting activities, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with applicable standards. - Monitor and reconcile prepaid expenses for proper recognition in financial statements. - Implement process enhancements to improve accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls within accounting operations. Requirements The ideal candidate will have the following skill set: - A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles. - Proficiency in month-end close procedures and general ledger management. - Strong knowledge of financial statement audits and account reconciliation. - Demonstrated experience with journal entries and maintaining accurate financial records. - Familiarity with lease accounting and fixed asset management processes. - Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and provide actionable recommendations. - Strong organizational and time management skills to meet reporting deadlines. - Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams.
