Job Description

Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the GM Global Technical Center - Champion Service Operations office three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business.

Relocation: This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

The Role:

Serve as a Warranty Financial Analyst, bringing timely and insightful decisions to all strategic and tactical matters as they related to warranty forecasting, accounting, audit/SOX compliance and financial analyses, leveraging financial systems and processes that increase visibility, improve efficiency, shorten decision cycle times, and reinforce financial integrity and accountability.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

• Perform Warranty COE General Ledger functions; assure accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with professional accounting standards and best practices in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

• Prepare manual journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and reserve adequacy studies

• Prepare warranty accrual rates using US GAAP accepted actuarial methodologies

• Maintenance of financial data in warranty system

• Identify, interpret and analyze potential accounting risks and issues

• Research and analyze accounting transactions and contracts

• Identify and execute internal controls, SOX compliance and financial procedures

• Partner with Finance to determine accounting implications of transactions and perform analytical analyses to utilize when making all material business decisions

• Assist with internal and external financial reporting - including analyzing consolidated results, drafting SEC documents and management review reports, ensuring quality, and administering strict timeline

• Evaluate current accounting practices and policies and drive continuous improvement

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting

• CPA required.

• minimum 2 years' experience in accounting or controllership

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)?:

• Knowledge and experience working enterprise accounting system (SAP and/or Oracle Hyperion)

• Warranty or product costing accounting experience

• Experience working within Automotive or Manufacturing
