Our client in Macomb County is looking for a hands-on Quality Manager to make a real impact. This opportunity offers the chance to take ownership of quality systems, lead a team, and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic manufacturing setting. What your day will look like:
- Lead and manage all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes across production
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and internal procedures
- Manage internal and external audits (ISO and customer-specific)
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Root Cause Analysis, 8D, and corrective actions
- Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement solutions to reduce defects and improve performance
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and leadership teams to resolve quality issues
- Supervise and mentor quality team members including inspectors and technicians
- Develop and maintain quality documentation including control plans, PFMEAs, and work instructions
- Interface with customers regarding quality concerns, audits, and corrective actions
What we are looking for:
- 5+ years of experience in a Quality leadership role within manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9001 (IATF 16949 experience is a plus)
- Experience with core quality tools: SPC, PFMEA, Control Plans, 8D, Root Cause Analysis
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
- Experience leading audits and working directly with customers on quality issues
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate a team
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field preferred
