Salary Range: $81,000 - $126,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Portage seeking EHS Managers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local EHS regulations and company policies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS management systems and programs.
• Conduct EHS risk assessments, industrial hygiene monitoring, and implement control measures.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs to all levels of employees.
• Perform regular EHS inspections and internal audits to identify hazards and ensure continuous improvement.
• Manage hazardous waste, air emissions, wastewater discharge, and other environmental permits and compliance activities.
• Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and response plans.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.) and industry best practices.
• Proven experience developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar.
• Demonstrated ability to lead incident investigations, conduct risk assessments, and develop effective corrective actions.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lead Auditor certification for ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies applied to EHS processes.
• Proficiency in EHS management information systems (EMIS) and data analytics for trend identification.
• Bilingual proficiency, especially Spanish, to support a diverse workforce.
