Key Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients and visitors warmly, verify personal and insurance information, and ensure all necessary forms are completed accurately
- Scheduling & Coordination: Book, confirm, and reschedule appointments for multiple providers; optimize provider schedules to improve patient satisfaction
- Record Management: Maintain and update health records
- Billing & Payments: Process patient payments, handle billing inquiries
- Phone & Communication Hub: Answer incoming calls, take messages, and route inquiries to the appropriate staff; manage emails and faxes .
- Office Operations: Maintain a tidy reception area, ensure availability of necessary materials, and order/receive office supplies
- Compliance: Follow all healthcare regulations and safety standards at all times
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment as a team player
- Empathy and patience when dealing with anxious or time-pressed patients
- Familiarity with HIPAA and FWA healthcare privacy laws
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Experience with insurance verification
- Experience with prior authorizations
Work Environment
This is a front-office role in a healthcare setting, requiring frequent interaction with patients, staff, and providers. The environment is fast paced, with attention to detail and adherence to strict confidentiality standards essential.
