Salary Range: $57,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Prepare competitive quotes for manufacturing projects, ensuring profitability and market alignment.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to gather necessary data for estimates.
• Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and specialized services.
• Maintain and update estimating databases, cost models, and historical data.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements within manufacturing processes.
• Assess risks and opportunities associated with estimates, providing contingency plans as needed.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate material, labor, and overhead costs, and apply appropriate profit margins.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems or specialized estimating software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to break down complex projects and identify cost drivers.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for design review.
• Experience with advanced ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or specialized estimating software.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Background in supply chain management or vendor negotiation.
