Landscape Maintenance Field Supervisor, Gardening Division

Atzinger Gardens is hiring a  Landscape Maintenance Foreman / Horticulture Team Lead  to guide a talented crew caring for high-end residential gardens in  Ann Arbor, MI .
This is a  hands-on landscape maintenance and horticulture leadership  position centered on  plant health, pruning, and detailed garden care , not lawn mowing or hardscape installation.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and work side-by-side with a garden crew delivering detailed residential landscape maintenance using sound horticultural practices
• Assign and drive daily work including pruning, weeding, mulching, fertilizing, planting, and other seasonal garden tasks
• Identify plant health concerns, pests, and cultural issues, then recommend and carry out appropriate solutions
• Coordinate with the Head Gardener on seasonal priorities, pruning plans, and garden improvements
• Handle daily job logistics including tools, materials, site setup, and crew workflow
• Ensure safe, compliant pesticide applications while following IPM principles
• Record job notes, material usage, and site observations accurately
• Communicate clearly with the Owner and Operations Manager on progress, needs, and crew performance
• Share ideas that improve efficiency, quality standards, and horticultural practices
• Maintain a professional on-site presence with clients and represent Atzinger Gardens

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in ornamental gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance
• Strong plant ID skills and a working knowledge of soil health and pest management
• Experience leading or mentoring a crew (formal or informal leadership)
• Ability to organize work, communicate clearly, and keep projects moving
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles
• Physically able to work outdoors, including lifting up to 50 lbs
• Horticulture degree or certification is a plus, not required
• Familiarity with IPM and pesticide use preferred

Pay & Compensation

• $21 to $27 per hour, depending on experience
• Paid weekly via direct deposit

Schedule

• Schedule four days between Monday and Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Four 10-hour days per week
• Occasional weekends as needed
• Seasonal position with strong potential for year-round advancement
