Salary Range: $84,000 - $129,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Walker seeking HR Managers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and retention for production, skilled trades, and administrative staff.
  • Oversee employee relations, conflict resolution, and grievance procedures, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with labor laws and manufacturing safety regulations.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, and payroll processes, including managing collective bargaining agreements where applicable.
  • Lead performance management initiatives, training, and development programs focused on manufacturing skills and leadership.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by collaborating on safety initiatives, incident investigation, and workers' compensation claims.
  • Conduct workforce planning and succession planning to meet evolving production demands and organizational growth.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in HR generalist functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, and performance management.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws, safety regulations (e.g., OSHA), and HR best practices.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage complex employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to partner with plant management and engage a diverse workforce.
  • Experience developing and implementing HR programs that support operational goals and a positive work culture.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience working in a unionized environment or with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Spanish or another relevant second language.
  • Prior experience managing HR across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Strong background in industrial safety and OSHA compliance.
