Job Title: CNC Setup Machinist

Job Description

Take full responsibility for programming, setting up, and operating 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines to complete a variety of one-off and custom projects. You will work with materials such as metal, plastic, and composites.

Responsibilities

• Program CNC machines from scratch using CAD/CAM software, primarily WorkNC, and occasionally HyperMILL.
• Program controls to produce high-precision components using Heidenhain, Fanuc, and Fidia controls.
• Create part models and generate toolpaths for CNC machining.
• Set up machines, including tooling and fixturing, based on project requirements.
• Ensure quality and accuracy of machined parts through inspection and adjustments as needed for first-run parts and sample workpieces.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience in CNC machining, specifically 3 & 5 axis programming, setup, and operation.
• Experience loading and editing WorkNC or HyperMILL.
• Experience programming and operating Heidenhain, Fanuc, or Fidia controls, with a strong preference for Heidenhain.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Haas Machines.
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing.

Work Environment

Facility that is temperature-, vibration-, and access-controlled, housing an extensive collection of cutting-edge CNC machines. The workspace is well-lit, clean, and promotes a professional, team-oriented environment. The shift runs from 6 pm to 6 am, with a 10% shift premium.

This is a Permanent position based out of Macomb, MI.

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $52000.00/yr.
