Salary Range: $48,000 - $75,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dimensional and visual inspections of first article parts against engineering specifications.
• Utilize precision measuring equipment, including CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to verify part accuracy.
• Generate and maintain accurate First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and associated documentation.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T callouts to ensure conformity.
• Identify, document, and report non-conformances and deviations from design specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
• Ensure all inspection activities comply with quality management systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Demonstrated expertise in operating and calibrating a variety of precision measurement equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
• Proven experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI) in compliance with industry standards (e.g., AS9102) and generating detailed FAI reports.
• Solid understanding of quality management systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001) and quality control principles.
• Ability to accurately document inspection results, identify non-conformances, and communicate findings effectively.

Bonus Qualifications

• CMM programming and operation experience
• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software for model interpretation
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies
