Key Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, and modify precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
• Operate and program a range of manual and CNC machine tools (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders, EDM).
• Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications to ensure accurate tool production.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repair on existing production tooling to minimize downtime.
• Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify tool accuracy and functionality.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tool design and manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Tool Maker, Die Maker, or similar precision machinist.
• Proficiency in operating and setting up manual and CNC machine tools (e.g., mills, lathes, grinders, EDMs).
• Ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and GD&T.
• Expertise in using a wide range of precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, tooling materials, and heat treatment processes.
• Aptitude for precision fitting, assembly, troubleshooting, and repair of intricate tooling.

Bonus Qualifications

• CAD/CAM software proficiency (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam)
• Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparator)
• Welding (TIG/MIG) and basic fabrication skills
• Fixture and jig design/build experience
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies
