Material Handler

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Material Handler to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and shipment of materials within our facility. This role requires familiarity with warehouse operations, heavy equipment operation, and safety standards to ensure smooth and safe logistics processes. Prior experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, and shipping & receiving is highly valued. The position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and mechanical knowledge are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials using forklifts while adhering to OSHA safety standards
• Responsible for executing established material handling processes to ensure material is received, located properly and in a timely manner.
• Material Handler will own structural steel, sheet steel (physically & digitally) issuing CC accuracy, issue accuracy.
• Responsible for verifying the quality of the product that is received within the shift, operating within the company's quality systems, processes and procedures.
• Work closely with the machine operators to pull parts to prepare kits for jobs in process based on the jobs assigned and published ship date.
• Deliver kitted parts prepared by inventory coordinator to each manufacturing cell.
• Report stock shortages, delivery issues and parts kit issues to inventory manager to log for resolution.
• Maintain shortage report in excel and effectively communicate the arrival of shortages. Execute delivery of shortages to required work cell.
• Must be available for overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or any combination equivalent
• Organization and attention to detail
• Meeting deadlines are a must for this position
• Professional written and verbal communication skills for documenting progress on completion of kits.
• 1 year of material issuing and kitting experience helpful.
• Operational proficiency with hi-lo and overhead crane equipment.

Work Environment

• Must be able to work 10 hour days, Monday - Thursday 6am to 4:30pm.
• Must be available for overtime, Friday 6:am - 2:30pm and/or Saturday 6am-Noon.
• Understand and comply with company safety programs and OSHA guidelines.
• Show operational proficiency with hi-low equipment
• Show operational proficiency with overhead crane equipment.
• Show operational proficiency with scissor lift equipment.
• Maintain an organized and clean work area.

Physical Demands

• Lifting materials up to 50 pounds.
