Plant Automation & Electrical Instrumentation Specialist

Join the BASF Wyandotte Manufacturing site as an I&E Technician II – Mechanical Equipment (Wyandotte, MI – Resins) and take ownership of installing, maintaining, and repairing plant assets that power production. You will troubleshoot across electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and automation domains—protecting uptime and product quality within the ED group.

- Well-planned work thanks to accurate parts and time estimates for I&E tasks
Core responsibilities
- Work with maintenance supervision, technicians, engineers, and production to design equipment changes and plant modifications.
- Calibrate instrumentation with pressure, temperature, and flow calibration tools.
- Participate in plant safety meetings; follow BASF site and corporate procedures.
- Demonstrate a team-oriented approach and maintain a reliable attendance record.
- Provide call-in support for after-hours needs; work overtime and weekends as required.

Work schedule & environment
- Monday–Friday rotating 10-hour day shifts
- Overtime and weekend work when needed, including after-hours call-ins
Physical capabilities
- Lift up to 50 lbs.; carry up to 25 lbs.; push/pull up to 25 lbs.
- Bend, kneel, squat, and crawl during maintenance activities.
- Climb vertical fixed ladders with ladder cages, plus portable step and extension ladders.
- Work within confined spaces as required.
Qualifications
- Proficient in electrical troubleshooting, installation, and repair
- Knowledge of electrical/electronic systems
- Strong maintenance and repair skills
- Industrial electrical experience
- High School diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills
