Occupational Therapist Job Details

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel occupational therapy job)
• Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation – Occupational Therapy Unit
• Location: South Bend, IN 46601 (Indiana healthcare jobs)
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 1/18/2026 – End: 4/19/2026)
• Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts per week (08:00 – 16:30)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2100-$2150
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• COVID-19 & Flu Vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Charting System: Cerner EMR (Cerner experience required)

Occupational Therapist Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapy license (Indiana or compact state; must be obtained prior to start)
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist (OT jobs; 1-2 years preferred; first-time travelers welcome)
• Current BLS certification
• NBCOT certification
• Experience with Cerner charting system
• Preferred: Previous charge experience, Trauma Level II hospital experience
• Ability to float within hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
• Completion of up to 8 hours of pre-start modules within 1 week of signing

Occupational Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and treatments for adult and geriatric patients in an inpatient rehab setting
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care, including adaptive equipment assessment, functional capacity evaluations, and discharge planning
• Manage a diverse caseload including neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and cognitive rehabilitation (CVA, TBI, dementia, Parkinson's, MS, amputee care)
• Perform splinting, wheelchair evaluation and positioning, and upper extremity prosthetics as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
• Document patient progress and outcomes using Cerner EMR
• Participate in reassessments, pre-discharge planning, and patient/family education
• Flexibility to cover weekend shifts as needed
