Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatrician to join our healthcare team. The Pediatrician will provide comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents, diagnosing and treating illnesses, monitoring growth and development, and offering preventive care. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a strong ability to connect with young patients and their families, and a commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough examinations of infants, children, and adolescents to assess their health and development
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of childhood illnesses, injuries, and conditions
- Provide preventive care, including vaccinations, wellness checkups, and developmental screenings
- Counsel parents and caregivers on proper nutrition, hygiene, safety, and disease prevention
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests and imaging studies
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including specialists, nurses, and therapists, to ensure comprehensive care
- Keep accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Educate families on childhood growth, behavioral issues, and developmental milestones
- Address acute and chronic conditions, such as asthma, allergies, infections, and congenital disorders
- Respond to pediatric emergencies and provide urgent care when needed
- Stay updated with advancements in pediatric medicine through continuing education and professional development
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualification & Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics
- Valid medical license to practice in Michigan
- Minimum three (3) years experience practicing as a Pediatrician
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, especially with children and parents
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to medical care
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Private practice setting, full-time or part-time employment
- Office hours are Monday - Friday 8:30AM - 5PM, after-hours until 6PM on Monday - Thursday, Saturday 8:30AM - 12:30PM
- Rotating half-day Saturday office hours and weekend on-call (1:7)
- Weeknight on-call in rotation with other physicians (1:7)
