Business Objects Analyst / Power Platform Specialist

Job Description

The Business Objects Analyst will support the Data Warehouse Team responsible for collecting HR data and making it available to business users across the organization. This role is heavily focused on Business Objects security and reporting for the next year, with a planned transition toward Power Platform as the organization evolves its technology stack.

The ideal candidate will be able to step into BO work immediately while also having interest and aptitude for future Power Platform initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Business Objects (BO) - 80% of the role

BO Security Administration (40%)

Manage and maintain BO security for ~4,000 users (2,500 user IDs).

Provision and maintain user access, including transfer scenarios (e.g., users moving from MDOT to DTMB).

Validate approvals/signatures and manage access workflows.

Ensure compliance with internal security standards.

BO Reporting (40%)

Develop, modify, and troubleshoot Business Objects reports.

Support business users in understanding and consuming BO reports.

Partner with reporting teams for enhancements and bug fixes.

Power Platform - 20%

Contribute to ongoing Power Platform initiatives as the organization transitions away from BO.

Build or assist with Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and related integrations.

Support digital transformation efforts (Cigma has already transitioned).

$50/hr to $53/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401K retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements

• Working knowledge of Business Objects security, universe design, and report deployment.

• Strong SQL and batch scripting skills.

• Experience maintaining Microsoft PowerPlatform solutions (Power BI, PowerApps, Power Automate).
