Incoming Inspection Technician | Byron Center, MI

Salary Range: $42,000 - $65,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, and sub-assemblies.
• Verify incoming material documentation, including Certificates of Conformance (CoC) and test reports.
• Record inspection results accurately in designated quality management systems or logs.
• Identify and segregate non-conforming materials, initiating non-conformance reports (NCRs).
• Utilize and maintain various inspection tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Ensure proper identification and traceability of all inspected incoming materials.
• Collaborate with purchasing and production to resolve material discrepancies and quality issues.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and material specifications.
• Experience with documenting inspection results and identifying non-conformances.
• Basic understanding of quality control principles and relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify visual and dimensional defects.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience operating or programming a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
• Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 13485 quality management systems.
• Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Prior experience with ERP systems for material transactions.
• Exposure to Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
