Plant Equipment Mechatronics Maintenance Specialist

About the role

We are a stable manufacturing company hiring an Industrial Maintenance Technician II with strong electro-mechanical and multi-craft capabilities to support 2nd shift operations.

When you will work

• 2nd Shift: 3:00pm–11:30pm, Monday–Friday
• Potential overtime on a daily basis and on weekends
• Flexibility to work 40+ hours per week and fulfill on-call responsibilities for repairs and assistance

Compensation

• 27–32 per hour
• 1.50 per hour shift differential

What you will do

• Execute preventive and reactive maintenance to sustain maximum production throughput
• Own PM schedules and close CMMS work orders on time with required documentation
• Serve as first responder for machine issues; engage Electrical Engineering when additional support is needed
• Troubleshoot and repair machines and their controls, including AC/DC motors and drives, downstream equipment, and chillers
• Specify, source, and order replacement parts and control components with suppliers
• Support Daily Management directives and plant initiatives
• Help design and implement Continuous Improvement projects that improve safety and efficiency
• Partner with Production Staff to ensure safe, reliable operation of plant equipment

Skills you bring

• Proficiency with electrical test equipment: voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, megger
• Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings
• Understanding of basic machine function and sequence of operations
• Knowledge of NEC, UL508A, NFPA 79
• Strict adherence to Lock Out Tag Out, arc flash, and PPE requirements
• Electrical formulas and mechanical math
• Three-phase industrial wiring and power distribution
• AC, DC, and servo drive/motor experience
• PLC I/O and networking troubleshooting
• Motion training with servo drives and motors
• Microsoft Excel and Word

Education and experience

• High School or Vocational School diploma or equivalent (required)
• Technician-level background in electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics (preferred)
• 2+ years in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, and controls
• Basic PLC and drive training
• Plastic process knowledge is a plus

Demonstrated proficiency in

• Mechanical troubleshooting
• 120/208/240/480 V systems
• Electrical troubleshooting and electrical repair

Equipment and technologies

• Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
• Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) including Fanuc, Allen Bradley, Siemens
• Conveyor systems
• Servo motors
