Restaurant Manager

Cornerstone Pub and Prime
Wyoming, MI

Job Overview

Assistant Manager – Cornerstone Pub and Prime

Full-Time or Part-Time | Growth Opportunity | Leadership Development

OUR STORY

Cornerstone Pub and Prime is more than just a restaurant and bar — it’s a gathering place for the community.
Known for elevated pub food, live music, holiday pop-ups, tent parties, and an energetic atmosphere, Cornerstone has built a reputation for creating memorable guest experiences while staying deeply connected to the local community.
We believe hospitality is about more than serving food and drinks — it’s about creating experiences, building relationships, developing great people, and constantly evolving.
As we continue growing and preparing for future expansion — including a potential second location within the next 12–18 months — we’re looking for leaders who want to grow with us and help shape the future of the company.

IS THIS ROLE FOR YOU?

Do you enjoy leading people while still jumping in to help when things get busy?
Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where no two days are the same?
Are you excited by growth, technology, events, marketing, systems, and fresh ideas?
Do you enjoy improving operations instead of simply maintaining the status quo?
If so, this may be the perfect opportunity for you.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

We believe restaurants should continue evolving — and that includes embracing technology, AI, creativity, education, and modern systems to operate smarter and create better guest experiences.
We actively use:

  • AI tools and automation
  • Excel and reporting systems
  • Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Google Drive and collaborative systems
  • Zoom and Google Meet
  • Canva and social media marketing tools
  • TOAST POS and restaurant technology

We are heavily focused on social media, branding, and community engagement. From live music nights and patio events to viral-style content and holiday experiences, we are always looking for creative ways to grow the brand and create excitement around the restaurant.
We are looking for someone who:

  • Embraces technology and innovation
  • Is excited about AI and efficient systems
  • Brings fresh ideas and creative thinking
  • Wants to help improve operations, training, communication, marketing, and guest experience
  • Is open-minded, adaptable, and growth-oriented

We also invest heavily in education and leadership development. Multiple times each year, we network and train with restaurant owners and operators from around the country, including hospitality conferences and leadership events in Las Vegas.
We surround ourselves with some of the best hospitality coaches, consultants, and owner-operators in the industry because we believe continuous learning creates better leaders, stronger systems, and better businesses.
For the right candidate, there may be opportunities to attend trainings, conferences, and networking events as part of your growth within the company.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Lead Daily Operations

  • Manage day-to-day floor operations during busy service shifts
  • Keep staff organized, productive, and accountable
  • Make staffing and floor decisions based on business levels
  • Ensure side work, cleanliness, and operational standards are consistently met
  • Step in and support staff during high-volume situations
  • Handle customer concerns and resolve issues professionally
  • Help create a positive, energetic, team-focused culture

Train & Develop the Team

  • Help onboard and train new staff members
  • Learn and become proficient in all front-of-house roles
  • Coach and develop team members to Cornerstone standards
  • Help create systems and processes that improve consistency and efficiency
  • Lead by example through attitude, work ethic, and accountability

Events, Marketing & Growth

  • Assist with event planning, setup, execution, and teardown
  • Support live music nights, patio events, tent parties, and holiday pop-ups
  • Assist with inventory, ordering, specials, seasonal launches, and operational projects
  • Help implement and improve AI-driven systems and operational processes
  • Assist with social media content creation and marketing initiatives
  • Capture photos/videos during events and daily operations
  • Help create engaging content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms
  • Assist with Canva graphics, promotional materials, and event marketing
  • Collaborate on branding ideas, promotions, and creative campaigns

WILL YOU FIT IN HERE?

We’re not looking for someone who just wants to “manage shifts.”
We’re looking for someone who:

  • Wants to help build something bigger
  • Thrives in fast-paced, high-energy environments
  • Loves hospitality, people, events, and community
  • Embraces technology, AI tools, and innovation
  • Takes ownership instead of waiting to be told what to do
  • Brings ideas to the table and helps improve systems
  • Leads with positivity, accountability, and consistency
  • Is coachable, growth-minded, and always learning

At Cornerstone, we move fast, adapt often, and continuously evolve. We value people who can embrace change, think creatively, and help push the business forward.
If you prefer “the way things have always been done,” this probably is not the right fit.
But if you’re excited by leadership, hospitality, events, marketing, systems, technology, and building something special — you’ll probably love it here.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Leadership or restaurant management experience preferred
  • Familiarity with TOAST POS, Excel, Outlook, Google Drive, Zoom/Google Meet, Canva, and other computer systems
  • Experience using social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
  • Basic content creation, photography/video, or marketing experience is a plus
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Basic math and cash handling experience
  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs

SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS

This role requires availability during:

  • Nights
  • Weekends
  • Holidays
  • Special events

However, one of the perks of our restaurant is that we are not an ultra-late-night establishment.
Our standard hours are:

  • Open daily at 11 AM
  • Close at 10 PM on weekdays
  • Close at 11 PM on weekends

(Outside of special events and holidays.)
Scheduling can be somewhat flexible based on management coverage, but weekend and holiday availability is a must.

PERKS & BENEFITS

  • Employee discount
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Holiday parties and team events
  • State Fair tickets and other fun perks
  • Hands-on leadership and business management experience
  • Growth opportunities as the company expands
  • Opportunity to help shape systems, culture, and future operations
  • Access to high-level hospitality training and networking opportunities
  • Opportunities for leadership growth as the company expands
