Position Title: Class B Driver

Salary Range: $18.00 - $23.00 Hourly

Position Summary
The CDL Class B Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods in support of station operations. This role involves operating Class B commercial vehicles for local and regional deliveries, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, and delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities may be adjusted based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operate Class B commercial vehicles (e.g., straight trucks, box trucks) for pickups and deliveries

2. Transport goods safely and efficiently while meeting delivery schedules

3. Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling and securement

4. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required documentation

5. Comply with all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies

6. Plan and follow efficient delivery routes using GPS and routing tools

7. Provide professional and courteous customer service at delivery and pickup locations

8. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and liftgates as needed

9. Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned vehicles

10. Report mechanical issues, delays, accidents, or safety concerns promptly

11. Assist with warehouse operations as needed

12. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Experience

1. High school diploma or GED required

2. Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred

3. Valid CDL Class B license required

4. Current DOT Medical Card required

5. Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required

6. Familiarity with the Metro Detroit area preferred

7. Must be able to pass a background check

Technical Skills

1. Ability to safely operate Class B commercial vehicles

2. Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices

3. Experience with liftgate operations and freight handling

4. Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks

Work Schedule

1. Must report to work on time and ready to perform duties

2. Start times may vary based on business needs

3. Participation in an on-call rotation may be required

Work Environment

1. Combination of driving and warehouse environments

2. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)

3. Warehouse may be heated but not air-conditioned

Physical Demands

1. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and arms

2. Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing

3. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

4. Frequent pushing and pulling of freight

5. Deliveries may include stairs, liftgates, and team lifts

Mathematical Skills

1. Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

Language Skills

1. Ability to read and understand instructions, delivery documents, and safety guidelines

2. Ability to complete basic reports and communicate effectively with team members and customers
   

Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
Starting pay is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, skills, and job-related knowledge. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.

Additional Compensation: This position includes an on-call stipend for participation in the on-call rotation.
