Assignment Dates: 11/24/2025 – 03/21/2026
Pay Rate: $85/hr (strike rate - rates may go back to normal at $55hr after strike ends)
Role Type: Temp-to-Perm (Opportunity to extend or go permanent based on business needs)
Schedule: 4x10s | 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM | Weekend rotation required
Setting: Primarily remote with required on-site presence for patient care

POSITION SUMMARY

The RN Case Manager supports physicians and the interdisciplinary care team by coordinating patient care across the continuum. This role enhances clinical outcomes, improves patient satisfaction, manages cost efficiency, and ensures timely communication with payors. The RN Case Manager is responsible for utilization management, patient education, care coordination, and discharge planning for an assigned patient caseload.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Facilitate precertification and payor authorization processes
• Coordinate patient care across the continuum and remove barriers to efficient care delivery
• Conduct utilization management and support timely reimbursement
• Provide discharge planning and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Coach and support clinical documentation efforts to ensure accuracy reflecting severity of illness and services provided
• Serve as a clinical resource for coders regarding documentation integrity
• Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, families, and payors
• Apply process improvement methodologies to evaluate care outcomes
• Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan
• Independently prioritize workload and manage multiple case management functions
• Perform other duties as assigned to support patient care and hospital operations

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 5 years of acute inpatient case management experience
• Strong experience with acute discharge planning
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment
• Interpersonal communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
• Strong analytical, data management, and computer skills
• Time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Experience using CarePort required
• Previous experience with AllScripts, GEMS/Sunrise preferred
• Must be able to work onsite as needed and acclimate quickly in a fast-paced clinical environment

EDUCATION & LICENSURE

Required:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current, valid RN license in the State of Michigan
• BLS certification through AHA

Preferred:

• Knowledge of performance improvement, case management, discharge planning, managed care reimbursement
