Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Residential Irrigation Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems for residential properties, with opportunities to support plumbing, construction and landscape lighting projects.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor environment across a variety of job sites. This position plays a key role in ensuring our clients’ systems operate efficiently while upholding the quality and service standards Lakeside Pro Services is known for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform irrigation system service, maintenance, and repairs for residential and properties
  • Complete seasonal services including system startups, winterizations (blowouts), and routine system inspections
  • Diagnose and repair system issues including leaks, broken heads, valve failures, wiring issues, and controller malfunctions
  • Troubleshoot electrical components such as solenoids, timers, and zone controls
  • Adjust sprinkler heads, nozzles, and controllers to ensure optimal coverage, efficiency, and water conservation
  • Identify system deficiencies and provide recommendations for repairs, upgrades, or efficiency improvements
  • Perform backflow checks and minor plumbing-related service work connected to irrigation systems
  • Support maintenance and service of low-voltage landscape lighting systems as needed
  • Communicate clearly with homeowners regarding system condition and service recommendations
  • Collaborate with operations and field teams to ensure efficient scheduling and high-quality service delivery
  • Maintain accurate service records, job notes, and documentation
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in clean and working condition

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in irrigation installation, maintenance, or related field service work
  • Basic knowledge of irrigation systems, components, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn plumbing and lighting systems
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and trenching equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical labor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with residential and/or commercial irrigation systems and controllers (e.g., Hunter, Rain Bird, or similar)
  • Basic plumbing experience, including pipe fitting and water line installation
  • Experience with low-voltage landscape lighting systems
  • Familiarity with electrical troubleshooting related to irrigation systems
  • Irrigation certification (e.g., IA certification) is a plus
  • Experience in landscaping, construction, or related outdoor services
