Registered Nurse Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1750 - $1800
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (September 8, 2025 – December 8, 2025)
• Healthcare Setting: Medical Surgical unit with oncology focus; potential to float to other Med/Surg units
• Nursing Shift: Day shift, 12-hour shifts (07:00 – 19:30)
• Schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts per week (36-48 hours/week)
• Location: Battle Creek, MI 49017 (Michigan healthcare jobs)
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Staffing Ratio: Typically 1:5-6; may flex to 1:8 with LPN support
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holidays required

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license or willingness to obtain prior to start
• BLS certification (AHA); pending accepted with willingness to obtain
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience required; 2 years preferred
• Ability and willingness to float to other Med/Surg units
• Strong teamwork skills; collaborate with RNs, LPNs, Techs, and interdisciplinary staff
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions accepted with documentation)
• Availability for first 8 days of assignment for orientation
• Professional references required

Med/Surg Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care to adults and geriatrics with medical and surgical diagnoses (oncology, ortho/neurovascular, cardio/pulmonary, GI, urology, hysterectomies, mastectomies)
• Float to other Med/Surg units as needed, typically once per week
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: IV teams, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, and more
• Maintain accurate patient records and participate in care planning
• Provide patient and family education and support
• Participate in required orientation and annual training modules
• Adhere to facility policies, infection control, and safety protocols
