APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Vicksburg, MI looking to add a Tooling Technician to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be repairing molds, jigs, fixtures, and other tooling used in plastic injection molding and the assembly of plastic products. What your day will look like:

• Train team members on proper equipment usage and safety protocols.
• Read blueprints and utilize measuring tools and mathematical calculations to fabricate or repair mold, jig, and fixture components.
• Modify molds, jigs, and fixtures to resolve functional or production-related issues.
• Inspect and verify modifications or repairs performed by external mold vendors, ensuring compliance with specifications and change orders.
• Perform skilled precision work beyond the scope of basic tool cleaning, adhering to close tolerances.
• Accurately document all repairs, modifications, and inventory usage.
• Maintain an organized inventory of repair materials including core pins, ejector pins, die springs, and related supplies.

What we are looking for:

• 2+ years of experience in mold or tool repair
• Hands-on experience working with jigs and fixtures
• Possess sufficient visual acuity to accurately program and adjust molding press settings.
• Must qualify for forklift and crane operation certifications.
• Must be comfortable working in environments with magnetic fields.
• Passing scores on client required assessments
• Capable of repeatedly lifting up to 60 pounds during daily tasks
