Travel Surgical Tech Job Details

• Location: Kalamazoo, MI 49048 (Michigan healthcare jobs)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,620–$1,660 per week
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (8/18/2025 – 11/17/2025)
• Shift: Nights, 4x10-hour shifts (9:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Weekend Requirements: 3 weekends per 6-week schedule
• Call Requirements: None
• Charting System: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Provided

Surgical Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist, Certified Surgical Tech (CST) preferred
• Active or pending Michigan state license (must be active by start date)
• ACLS and BLS certifications (pending accepted if completed by start date)
• Experience with Cerner electronic charting system preferred
• Previous Trauma Level II hospital experience required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to complete up to 8 hours of onboarding modules prior to start

Surgical Tech Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during operative procedures (e.g., Bovie, suction, closing incisions, applying dressings)
• Prepare, set up, and open sterile surgical supplies; hand instruments to surgeons
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and ensure proper sterilization and disinfection
• Support a range of surgical specialties: orthopedic, general, gynecologic, and trauma cases
• Float within the hospital or to affiliate Michigan hospitals as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including pharmacy and patient transport
• Provide surgical support for patients of all ages: pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
