Retail Associate - Korting Outlet 28th and Kalamazoo

As a Retail Associate, you will be trained across several areas of the store including but not limited to the register, sorting product, stocking, cleaning. You will be responsible for assisting customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and contributing to the overall success of our business. This position requires a friendly and outgoing demeanor, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for delivering an outstanding shopping experience. Weekend availability is mandatory, .

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

• Greet customers with a warm and friendly attitude, offering assistance and providing product information.
• Listen attentively to customers' needs, identify suitable products, and make personalized recommendations.
• Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally, seeking assistance when needed.
• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.

Product Knowledge and Merchandising:

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the products and services offered in the store.

Stay up-to-date with product features, pricing, and promotions to effectively assist customers.

• Maintain a well-organized and visually appealing store layout, including product displays and signage.
• Regularly restock merchandise, monitor inventory levels, and participate in inventory management tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to create eye-catching product displays and seasonal arrangements.

Store Operations:

• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe shopping environment by performing regular cleaning duties.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including cash handling and security measures.
• Contribute to maintaining accurate records of sales, inventory, and customer interactions.

Teamwork and Communication:

• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by actively engaging with colleagues and managers.
• Assist fellow team members during peak periods, special events, or in covering breaks and lunch periods.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, providing feedback and sharing ideas.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred.

• Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational skills.

• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move moderately heavy objects.

Korting Outlet is a unique discount retail store where returned items from major retailers like Amazon are sold in bins for a set price depending on the day of the week. On Fridays the bins are filled up with new inventory and each item is only $10. As the week goes on, no inventory is added to the bins but the price starts to drop each day until each item is only 25 cents on Thursdays. Bins are filled back up for Friday & Saturday and the cycle repeats. We also carry a great selection of grocery, clothing, and shoes all for a fraction of retail prices.
