Occupational Therapist Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel Occupational Therapist
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Rehab (with floating to Acute Care)
• Location: South Bend, Indiana 46601
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• End Date: December 2, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shifts, Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts (7:00am–3:30pm or 8:00am–4:30pm)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2100–$2150 per week
• Weekend Requirements: As needed if flexing off during the week
• Call Requirements: None
• Holiday Requirements: Flexibility to work 1 of 3 holidays if RTO overlaps
• Charting System: Cerner
• Scrubs: Grey

Occupational Therapist Qualifications

• Active Indiana Occupational Therapist license (or compact state) required prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of recent hospital-based OT experience
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• NBCOT certification
• Experience with Cerner charting system
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Willingness to float between Acute Care and Rehab units
• Ability to complete up to 8 hours of pre-start modules
• First-time travel OTs welcome with prior hospital experience

Occupational Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and treatments for adult and geriatric patients in inpatient rehab
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, including adaptive equipment assessment and discharge planning
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, respiratory, pharmacy, radiology, social services)
• Float between Acute Care and Rehab units as needed
• Accurately document patient care activities in Cerner
• Conduct functional capacity evaluations, cognitive assessments, and upper extremity rehabilitation
• Educate patients and families on rehabilitation goals and home exercise programs
