This role involves assembling a variety of products under general supervision, including sub-assemblies, manual components, electrical components, and related parts. You follow detailed directions and blueprints to meet product specifications while consistently adhering to safety, quality, and quantity standards. Responsibilities
  • Assemble components, including sub-assemblies, manual parts, electrical components, and related elements, to complete a variety of products according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, procedures, safety sheets, and policies in English to ensure accurate assembly.
  • Follow established safety, quality, and quantity standards throughout all stages of the assembly process.
  • Carry out verbal instructions in English and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices and follow ergonomics guidelines to support a safe and organized work area.
  • Participate in workplace organization initiatives and follow training procedures, including cross-training on different tasks and processes.
  • Perform repetitive assembly tasks with consistency and maintain the stamina required for sustained production work.
  • Inspect work for accuracy and quality, paying close attention to detail to ensure products meet defined specifications.
  • Identify and promptly report safety concerns, quality issues, or process deviations to the appropriate personnel.
  • Learn and adapt to new processes, systems, tools, and equipment as production needs evolve.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to continuous improvement efforts, and support conflict resolution in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate motivation to grow and progress to higher skill levels, including willingness to cross-train in additional assembly tasks.
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, sitting, standing, and crawling as required by the job.
  • Use hand grasp and hand-eye coordination to operate tools, equipment, and components safely and efficiently.
  • Support the assembly of medical device products by following all applicable procedures and quality expectations.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to meet assigned work schedules and comply with overtime requirements, including weekends.
  • Ability to read and understand procedures, safety sheets, instructions, and policies in English.
  • Ability to carry out verbal instructions and communicate verbally in English.
  • Strong adherence to safety practices, including good housekeeping and ergonomics.

  • Adequate hand grasp strength and coordination of hands and/or eye-hand-foot to perform assembly tasks.
  • Experience or ability to perform assembly work, particularly for medical device products.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing and assembly environment with multiple shift options, including first, second, and third shifts depending on location. You work on the production floor with tools, fixtures, and equipment used to assemble sub-assemblies, manual components, and electrical components, particularly for medical device products. The role involves frequent lifting and carrying of 10–50 lbs, with occasional lifting up to 50–75 lbs depending on site and product line, as well as prolonged periods of standing, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling as tasks require. You may need to reach, push, or pull to handle parts and equipment and must use consistent hand grasp and hand-eye coordination to perform precise assembly work. The environment follows strict safety, housekeeping, and ergonomics standards, and you are expected to wear appropriate work attire and any required personal protective equipment suitable for a clean, organized, and safety-focused production setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Portage, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
