Salary Range: $59,000 - $91,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs) to understand project requirements.
• Calculate material, labor, overhead, and subcontracted costs for manufacturing projects.
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and price quotations for customers.
• Source and obtain competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Analyze historical data and market trends to refine estimating models and improve accuracy.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities related to cost, schedule, and scope during the estimation process.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, assembly) and material costing principles.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, identify cost drivers, and develop accurate, competitive bids.
• Experience with ERP systems and specialized estimating software.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with advanced estimating software or ERP costing modules.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain dynamics and material sourcing.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for design interpretation.
• Basic understanding of project management methodologies.
