Electronics Repair Technician - Component-Level PCB Troubleshooting
Job Description
Job Description
PSI Repair Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electronics Repair Technician to diagnose, repair, and test industrial electronic assemblies at the component level . This position focuses on printed circuit boards (PCBs), power supplies, motor drives, and electronic controllers used in commercial and industrial applications.
This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy hands-on troubleshooting , working from schematics , and solving complex electronic failures—not assembly-line work or board swapping.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electronic PCBs to the component level
- Diagnose and repair power supplies, motor drives, controllers, and industrial electronics
- Perform soldering and rework of surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole components
- Read and interpret electronic schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
- Test repaired units using standard bench equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies
- Analyze test results, verify performance, and document repair actions
- Perform other shop and technical duties as required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience repairing and troubleshooting electronic assemblies at the component level
- Proven experience with SMT and through-hole soldering and desoldering
- Ability to read and troubleshoot from electronic schematics
- Experience using common electronic test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, bench power supplies)
- Background in industrial, commercial, or military electronics repair
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent technical training
- Experience with power electronics, motor drives, or control systems
This position is not a fit if you have only performed board swapping, box-level repairs, or consumer electronics repair (phones, TVs, laptops), or if you are seeking an entry-level training role.
Application Requirement:
Please briefly describe a component-level PCB repair you personally performed, including how you diagnosed the failure.
