Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine product designs using CAD software and engineering principles.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs) for manufacturing.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to optimize product performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA) to ensure efficient and high-quality production.
• Conduct design reviews, analyses, and testing of prototypes to validate design concepts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to integrate design requirements.
• Troubleshoot design-related issues and implement corrective actions throughout the product lifecycle.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related engineering field.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication) and their impact on design.
• Experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Knowledge of material properties, selection, and their application in product design.
• Proven ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop innovative design solutions.

Bonus Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with prototyping, fabrication, or workshop tools.
• Proficiency in advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, CFD).
• Experience with scripting or automation for design tasks (e.g., Python, VBA).
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
