Inspection Technician | Montague, MI

Salary Range: $48,000 - $71,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs, to verify product specifications.
• Document inspection results accurately and completely, including acceptance/rejection status and detailed observations.
• Identify and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate containment procedures.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and quality control plans to ensure compliance.
• Maintain inspection equipment calibration and ensure the cleanliness and organization of the inspection area.
• Collaborate with production and quality engineering teams to address quality issues and process improvements.

Recommended Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; technical certification or Associate's degree preferred.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications, including GD&T.
• Strong understanding of quality control principles and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills for identifying non-conformances.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience operating or programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
• ASQ Certification (e.g., Certified Quality Inspector, Certified Quality Technician)
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
