CNC Lathe Programmer / Machinist

Location: Fraser, MI

Type: Full-Time, Onsite

Compensation: Up to $32 per hour (negotiable based on experience)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM (overtime available until 4:30 PM as needed)

About the Opportunity

A well-established precision machining company in the Fraser, Michigan area is seeking a CNC Lathe Programmer / Machinist to join its growing production team. This role is ideal for a machinist who enjoys programming, setup, and hands-on machining while maintaining tight tolerances and high-quality standards.

You will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes to produce precision components while collaborating with a team of experienced machinists and engineers. What You’ll Do

• Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes to produce precision machined components

• Create and edit CNC programs using Mazak and Fanuc controls

• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to determine machining processes

• Select and install tooling, fixtures, and offsets required for production

• Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring tools

• Adjust feeds, speeds, offsets, and tooling to maintain quality and efficiency

• Troubleshoot machining or programming issues and implement solutions

• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow all safety procedures

• Collaborate with team members to improve production processes and throughput

What You Bring

• Experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes

• Proficiency with Mazak and/or Fanuc controls

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T

• Experience using precision inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks in a production environment
