Shipping, Receiving and Secondary Lead

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping, Receiving and Secondary Lead to join our team in Warren, MI, 48092. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our shipping and receiving processes. You will lead a team, manage inventory, and ensure that all shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all shipments.
• Lead and mentor a team of shipping and receiving staff, providing training and support as needed.
• Coordinate with various departments to ensure seamless inventory management and fulfillment.
• Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, including tracking and documentation.
• Implement and uphold safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
• Identify areas for process improvement and work with management to implement changes.
• Assist with inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Communicate effectively with vendors and carriers to resolve any shipping issues or discrepancies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
• Proven experience in shipping and receiving operations, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping software.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse setting.
• Ability to lift heavy packages and operate warehouse equipment as needed.
