Inventory Control Manager | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $81,000 - $121,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize inventory levels to meet production demands and minimize carrying costs.
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust inventory control procedures and systems.
• Oversee and execute regular cycle counts and annual physical inventories, ensuring accuracy and reconciliation.
• Analyze inventory data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production, purchasing, and logistics to ensure efficient material flow and inventory availability.
• Monitor and report on key inventory performance indicators (KPIs) and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Identify and manage obsolete, slow-moving, and excess inventory to minimize waste and optimize warehouse space.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in inventory control or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced inventory management software.
• Strong understanding of inventory best practices, forecasting, demand planning, and lean manufacturing principles.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and process improvement.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
• Experience with advanced data visualization or business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
• Project management experience, particularly with WMS or ERP system implementations
