Job Title: Die Repairman
Job Description

The tool & die repairman is responsible for maintaining and repairing dies on the 2nd shift. This role requires an experienced individual with over 7 years of expertise who can immediately contribute to die maintenance and repair, both in the press and tool room.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair dies in the stamping presses (600 - 1,000 progressive, tandem, and transfer presses across 42 different presses).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with the fingers of the press.
• Perform lockout tagout procedures and troubleshoot broken punches.
• Utilize press gauges for tool & die setup.
• Assist in training and teaching Die Setters.
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications of tools, dies, prototypes, or models.
• Repair jigs, dies, and fixtures, and set up machine tools to address issues.

Essential Skills

• 7+ years of Tool & Die maintenance experience.
• Progressive & transfer die troubleshooting experience.
• Manual machining skills, including surface grinders.
• Certified in Crane, Hi-Lo, and Forklift operation.
• Experience in press repair for troubleshooting.
• Ability to diagnose tool issues in both press and tool room environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting in press environments.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Welding and fabrication skills.
• Must own a toolbox with essential tools such as grinders and quality tools.

Work Environment

The work environment is in an older stamping and robotic weld facility with 42 presses and robots located in Centerline. Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and sleeves are required. The facility operates two shifts and maintains a lean number of employees. The work is conducted from Monday to Friday, with potential Saturday shifts as production increases.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Center Line, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.90 - $33.90/hr.
