The Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for protecting Dow Credit Union's security interests in its consumer and real estate loan portfolios. This position ensures the accuracy and integrity of loan documentation, maintains compliance with insurance, tax, escrow, and regulatory requirements, and delivers exceptional service to members, vendors, and internal partners. The Loan Servicing Specialist plays a critical role in safeguarding collateral, supporting regulatory reporting, and ensuring a high-quality servicing experience throughout the life of the loan.

What you'll do (the fun stuff)
- Be the calm, capable go-to for members, vendors, and partners-service first, always.
- Audit newly closed mortgage loans to confirm documents + system data are correct and complete.
- Keep insurance and tax tracking tight: homeowner/flood coverage, property tax status, and required updates.
- Step in when needed: coordinate with tracking vendors, handle delinquent tax/insurance situations, and complete protective actions when required.
- Build and maintain escrow accounts, run disbursements, and prep annual escrow analysis disclosures.
- Manage key servicing items like PMI tracking/cancellations , and support claims related to debt protection/GAP when applicable.
- Keep files and loan images organized, protected, and easy to access (without losing a single detail).
What you bring
- Solid understanding of loan servicing + real estate lending basics (or the motivation to learn fast).
- Strong accuracy, follow-through, and comfort juggling multiple priorities.
- Confident communication-clear, kind, and professional, even under pressure.
- Discretion with confidential member information.
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- 1 year member/customer service, lending, or call center experience required
- 1–2 years consumer/mortgage loan servicing experience preferred
- No certifications required
