Civil Superintendent

Your Role

As a Superintendent at Major Contracting, you’ll be the on-site leader responsible for making sure the job gets done—safely, efficiently, and to spec. You’ll coordinate all field operations, manage crews and subcontractors, and serve as the point person for communication between the field and the office.

This role requires a strong working knowledge of civil construction practices (utilities, earthwork, roadwork, etc.) and the leadership to run a professional, safety-first jobsite.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all on-site activities for civil construction projects
• Oversee field crews and subcontractors, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
• Interpret construction plans, specifications, and schedules
• Manage site logistics, materials, deliveries, inspections, and work sequencing
• Conduct safety meetings and enforce company and OSHA safety standards
• Communicate with project managers, clients, engineers, and inspectors
• Track and report daily progress, field changes, and resource usage
• Identify potential problems early and implement initiative-taking solutions

What You Bring

• 5+ years of civil construction experience with 2–3+ years in a leadership/superintendent role
• Strong background in civil contracting
• Experience managing multiple crews and coordinating subcontractor activities
• Proficient in reading blueprints, plans, and construction documents
• Excellent organizational, communication, and team leadership skills
• OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Proficient with basic construction software (Procore, HCSS, or similar a plus)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
