Job Summary
We are seeking Heavy Equipment & CDL Training Instructor experienced and safety-focused to deliver competency-based training in heavy equipment operation and Class-A commercial driving. This role supports training programs across classroom, field, and online settings. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, a professional demeanor, and a passion for developing others.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging instruction through various teaching methods including in-person, hands-on, and online sessions.
- Conduct skill assessments and maintain accurate training records using a learning management system.
- Stay updated with current industry practices, safety protocols, and instructional tools.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with learners and program stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as tractor-trailers, skid steers, dozers, forklifts, overhead hoists, and power tools.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Class-A CDL driving experience.
- At least 2 years (4,000 hours) of related occupational experience outside of education.
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of work experience and training.
- Strong communication and safety awareness skills.
- Intermediate computer proficiency.
Additional Requirements
- Valid Class-A CDL and driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Willingness to complete background checks, drug screening, and driving record verification.
- Availability to work a contingent schedule, with hours varying based on client demand.
