Job Summary

We are seeking Heavy Equipment & CDL Training Instructor experienced and safety-focused to deliver competency-based training in heavy equipment operation and Class-A commercial driving. This role supports training programs across classroom, field, and online settings. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, a professional demeanor, and a passion for developing others.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver engaging instruction through various teaching methods including in-person, hands-on, and online sessions.
2. Conduct skill assessments and maintain accurate training records using a learning management system.
3. Stay updated with current industry practices, safety protocols, and instructional tools.
4. Build and maintain positive relationships with learners and program stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

1. Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as tractor-trailers, skid steers, dozers, forklifts, overhead hoists, and power tools.
2. Minimum of 2 years of recent Class-A CDL driving experience.
3. At least 2 years (4,000 hours) of related occupational experience outside of education.
4. Associate degree or equivalent combination of work experience and training.
5. Strong communication and safety awareness skills.
6. Intermediate computer proficiency.

Additional Requirements

1. Valid Class-A CDL and driver’s license with a clean driving record.
2. Must be 21 years or older.
3. Willingness to complete background checks, drug screening, and driving record verification.
4. Availability to work a contingent schedule, with hours varying based on client demand.
