Senior Software Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a Contract role with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid) . This is a hands‑on senior engineering role focused on Golang‑based CLI tooling and DevOps pipelines to improve developer productivity and automate testing/resource reservation for Phoenix, ECG, TCU, and SYNC4. The ideal candidate brings deep experience building developer infrastructure—not just application features—and can drive CI/CD, observability, and platform reliability at scale.

Rate Range: $65/hour to $74/hour ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Senior Software Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Design and implement features for Golang‑based command‑line tools and developer utilities.

• Develop and execute unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests ; maintain a robust automated test suite.

• Write clear technical specifications for new features and improvements.

• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

• Contribute to process improvements, CI/CD pipelines, and toolchain upgrades to maximize developer velocity.

• Provide application support with a focus on reliability, observability, and proactive incident prevention.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 8+ years total software engineering experience.

• 8+ years production Golang (CLI/DevOps/API focused).

• Proven track record building developer tooling and automation pipelines.

• Hands‑on expertise with:

  • GCP (including Cloud Run) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)

  • Docker (security‑focused containerization best practices)

  • API design (REST/gRPC, security, lifecycle)

  • Application Development, Support, Testing at scale

  • SonarQube or equivalent static analysis tooling and CI/CD integration

Pay Details: $65.00 to $74.00 per hour
