Chief Financial Officer Assistant

The Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for helping the CFO maintain corporate accounting records in accordance with company policies, procedures and NCUA. Essential Duties & Responsibilities ? Assist with CFO on all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting. ? Help provide strategic guidance and analysis to leadership and the board of directors on financial matters. ? Lead accounting on operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements. ? Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and economic developments to anticipate challenges and opportunities. ? Assist CFO with preparation of comprehensive and accurate financial reports, maintain meticulous records of the credit unions financial and accounting transactions. ? Coordinate month-end closing procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. ? Assist CFO with implementation and maintenance of internal controls and reconciling processes for safekeeping, control and accounting of assets and securities. ? Serve as key member of the executive team, contributing to the overall financial strategy and growth of the credit union. Job Tasks ? Assistant with the preparation of financial statements and reports ? Helping with budgeting and forecasting ? Managing daily accounting tasks and reconciliations ? Supporting the CFO in financial analysis and planning ? Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards ? Assisting in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures ? Collaborating with other departments to support overall financial objectives and goals of the credit union. Qualifications ? Bachelor?s degree in accounting ? 3 or more years of experience ? Broad Familiarity with Credit Union Accounting ? Experience with Board Reporting, Regulatory Reports, and NCUA Accounting Regulations ? Ability to Analyze General Ledger accounts and prepare Reconciliations ? Good Communication Skills with Staff & Members ? Ability to work with Board and Management to Compile Financial Strategies and Ability to Prepare Reports Detailing those Strategies ? Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word) ? Familiarity with Common Credit Union Regulations Other Departments Frequently Work with and Ability to Offer Guidance in these Area.
